Woven from 100% cotton, this double gauze has a natural puckered texture and an airy open weave. This cotton is made with two lightweight layers of gauze basted together to create a soft pillowy hand that is perfect for a mid-weight scarf. It has 1 side that is the natural selvage and 3 sides that have a stitched line and are finished rough for a casual look.
These scarves have been hand dyed in my studio with Indigo. Indigo is a natural plant dye that has been around for 1000's of years and is truly magic! You can read more about it on my blog here. I use Shibori style resist dyeing to create unique, one-of-a-kind patterns within the indigo dye.
This series "Shoreline" is the feeling you get when standing on the edge of water, looking out... Will you go in? Will you go on? Being in the moment, gentle waves lapping at your toes, taking deep breaths, taking it all in.
