Please join me for this Introduction to Indigo Dyeing Workshop.
This 3 hr workshop is meant to be fun, creative and explorative. During the 3 hours you will learn the basics of an indigo vat. You will learn the basics of shibori folding which is a Japanese manual resist dyeing technique that gives us all the beautiful patterns that we love!. You will make a few samples on different types of fabrics (cotton, silk, linen, bamboo) that you will get to take home and hopefully incorporate into your next project! Once you see the results of the samples then you will begin to concentrate your efforts on making your grand finale piece!
You can choose from a summer scarf, a book bag, a tea towel or a napkin set to take home! Extra blanks will be available for sale if you would like to do more.
Coffee, tea and treats will be served.
This workshop is located in my garden in Pemberton BC.
A note on weather. This workshop is outside. There are 3 tents to work under but this is mainly to protect us from sun. A lot of the work will be done outside of the tent (and the hanging of the pieces will be on the lines outside). If the weather looks like rain the class will be cancelled and rescheduled. You will get a full refund if I decide to cancel the class. I will try to give you as much notice as possible if the class is cancelled.
